The PSA rejects the so called 'Final' offer for public sector Allied Health Professionals and Allied Health Assistants
Late yesterday the government sent the PSA what they are calling “final terms of offer” for a separate enterprise agreement for Allied Health This is a hostile Work Choices style offer that would only be condoned and supported by those people willing to sell out union members. Although this offer is for Allied Health Professionals and Allied Health Assistants it is important for all members to be aware as it flags the government’s intent when it comes to the wider Salaried Agreement. The revised offer continues the government’s outrageous attempts to slash your job protections and conditions, while refusing to address cost of living pressures. This offer is for a four year agreement, with pay rises of This means in four years’ time your wages would not even be where they should be right now. |

The offer also would:
Allow your employer to force workers on to 24/7 rosters with no recourse or protections.
Cut vital job security protections (the “Triple R” clauses in Appendix 1), while using weasel words to hide the risk. This would enable mass job losses, mass privatisations and an increase in insecure work.
Destroy the protections from unreasonable workloads PSA members fought for and won.
Water down consultation rights to make them almost meaningless.
Create and exacerbate inequities between professions.
Expressly prohibit industrial action during dispute resolution. This would remove a fundamental union right.
Slash many other important rights and conditions.
This is an insulting offer which does not come close to meeting PSA members’ requirements.
The government naming this a “final” offer indicates it has been agreed in principle with those bargaining agents with whom it has been negotiating.
To be clear with members, the PSA has not agreed in principle to this offer, does not endorse this offer and will advise the government in the strongest terms that we reject it.
This is an interim PSA update. More detailed information will be communicated to members soon.
THE BEST OUTCOMES COME FROM STANDING UNITED
The PSA will fight for you when others try to sell you out.
Right now it is critical that we push back on government. PSA members are, right now, taking more industrial action than we have in decades. We need every member on board to make this government understand that they must treat you with dignity and respect, and address the very real financial hardships of members without slashing conditions.
